Other Petzl gear - sailing

Anyone know anything about Petzel's gear used on sailing ships?

Full body harness with long large 'cow's tails' on a sling type strp I think, plus a "glider" which was single device for up and down safety. Clipped the glider in with two locks and it was a back-up safety for climbing the rigging. Could be dragged downwards but would arrest a sharp fall. I didn't see a model name, but definitely Petzel brand. . All felt like quite long safety cords cf caving, and I decided it best not to fall on them. The harness had via ferrata style ripable lanyard too, but this didn't seem to be used.

I don't know if this is some form of modified RopeAccess gear? Or specific to ships?

They could have used a prussic of some form to get back up onboard after one of the crew needed to go over the side of the ship to a free a line. Looked liek they were mostly hauled by others!

It’s almost certainly either an ASAP or ASAP LOCK mobile fall arrest device:

They were designed as a replacement for the Shunt as a back up device for rope access (the replacement was required ‘asap’ hence the name I believe). I don’t think they’ve got any practical caving application, although I did test one to self-belay for an aven climb. It worked fine, but I wouldn’t recommend it over other techniques!

That looks just the thing. No I don't think I'd use it caving, but was curious.
