Overdale Pots?

I'm going to guess almost everyone that clicks on this post did so out of curiosity, wondering what it was about, having never heard this name before.

Just recently, whilst working on something unrelated, I needed to look at the BRPC journal (76-77). In doing so I spotted the quite brief write-up in "more bits" about Overdale Pots. I've looked at the journal numerous times in the past but for some unknown reason never paid particular attention to this entry.

With my curiosity piqued, I've since looked, searched and even asked a couple of people (if reading this, I'm sure you know who you are, so thank you again) but to no avail. I've not been able to find any other information or reference to this feature.

So, my question is, does anyone know anything further, has it been visited since, documented anywhere (other than the aforementioned journal), dismissed, dug, ignored, entered caverns measureless? Any snippets of info would be great.

Location: roughly, it's located in the blank area (marked as Overdale on OS maps) south of Dale Head Farm and west of Silverdale Gill.

It is listed at start as 10ft deep & too small for Ged Dodd to enter (in fact it says he had to be hauled out by Martin Dawson)...
Yeah, that's the bit that concerns me as, back in the day, Ged looked to be a very slim caver! Partly why I've posted on here, to try and find anything out before trudging over for a look and probably wondering how any human fitted down there🤣

Martin Dawson is good friend, although he hasn't caved in many years he may recall something, I will ask him.
Another member of the same team at that time is the un - fatiguable Phil Ryder

There are at least two shafts on the opposite side of the road that have been filled in, this may have had the same but with a capping stone it is possible if it was put back that no one has returned to it. The old game keeper could be quite discouraging to those he didn't know, especially as you'd be quite close to the house.

I spoke with Martin today, but he has no recollection of Overdale Pot

Thanks for asking. To be honest I don't think I'd be able to recall something random from 40-50 years back!

I'm awaiting a reply from someone who knows the area but isn't familiar with the name. Depending on how that goes I may end up having to get off my backside and go for a wander.
