Parc Mine, north wales.
Thinking of doing the ladders from 2 down to 3 believe there is a short abseil required to get down to 3. Can anyone confirm ?
Also can you get out into kneebones cutting from 3 i.e to a through trip ?

There is an abseil after the ladders, can't remember the length, the rope should be in-situ.

Thank you so much for that. Last time I did this mine adit 3 mouth was open and there were mine carts outside !
I had heard about the hole in the choke dam just wasnt sure how big it was.

We are taking a rope and I think its about 30 ft.

IIRC the drop from the sublevel at the bottom of the ladders to level 3 is about 40' so a 15-20m rope will be more than adequate. There may be a rope in situ as stones says, but last time I used the in-situ rope it was a very furry 11mm and I had to bounce to get a stop to move

The exit to kneebones may be waist deep water and you may need a handline to get out of kneebones as its very slippy and steep. Please dress like a walker on approach as the CAL agreement ended a long time ago.

Changed this rope over couple years ago , now it’s a 9.5mm one .

It’s much cleaner than the old 1 .
