No need, There's one entrance that will always be open. It's the less risky way in. One you're in the tunnels its fine it's just going along the railway line that's a bit risky, In the UK trespassing is a civil offence, in Europe it's a little different.

Military bases and other "critical" infrastructure in UK are also criminal, as is aggravated trespass and causing damage.

Common sense would dictate that I wasn't referring to MOD or governmental sites or otherwise, but feel free to add to the list.
I can see why being underground is preferred, much safer.

Don't know, I asked that very question, she didn't know the amount but thought getting caught was very uncommon and didn't know anyone who had been unlucky

Googling suggest typically €60 but legally up to €3,500. Hopefully the large fines are reserved for disrespecting remains, causing damage etc, not just first offence fines. Hopefully don't get caught!
