Just bought and paid for, mostly new - it's going to be in there forever, so it seemed sensible to go fresh. And surprisingly cheap. Which I guess is why there are so many scaffolding erection companies

It's not only ICE in the USA which can prove hazardous; this is the lower point of the open shaft leading in to Gavel pot. Some of these remnants of former icicles must have weighed over 5kg, and would have proved significantly deleterious to wellbeing had they landed on an unfortunate caver.

Another of The Frozen Deep. No chance of a model as its all over the tape. Photographers will find that TFD has a micro climate. Sometimes there is a lot of moisture in the air making shots like this almost impossible. My last trip a few weeks ago found it to be very " dank " indeed.

I sent MCRA 1,500 photos of Reservoir Hole ( I have more ) . Firstly I wondered if that might be a record for the most images taken by a single photographer of one cave. Of more interest is a thought I had looking at this one again. Does it show the longest unsupported arch in the UK ? Its a perfect arch a few metres wide and 65 metres across. This image shows about half of it as I was not thinking about it being an arch at the time. The Frozen Deep just below the pillars.
