planned trip to Applecross

newby to the forum, and planning a trip to Applecross late September. the Cave of the Liar is on the agenda, but we are going to take in as many of the nearby caves as possible in a day.
does anybody have any recommendations and/or special advise for the area?

CAVES OF APPLECROSS AND KISHORN by Richard Simpson, and David Morrison with contributions by Alan L Jeffreys and Mark Tringham.  2007 50 pp, 9 B&W, 10 colour photos, 3 location maps, 20 surveys.  Occasional Publication  No 8 Grampian Speleological Group.  An essential guide book for anyone visiting the area.  SB

if you're not already in contact with the GSG, i'd contact them as they know the area best and i believe there are members not too far away from there who may be able to help you.

Both pieces of advice are good. What did you expect?

I agree with Graham, excellent advice. The guide book is good and contacting GSG might enable you to link up with local cavers for a look at the flood prone new caves. One word of advice. Don't go into Cave of the Liar by the Main Entrance - the boulder choke really is as bad as described and if done at all should only be tackled on exit (been there and done it as an exit and that was bad enough). Cave is pretty muddy and squeezy and mainly crawling but there are some nice formations.
