They're usually so small they go unnoticed. The only time I saw one was when I was doing some biology thing at school (before O-level/GCSE) and we had to examine the bugs in leaf litter with a pooter (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aspirator_(entomology) ) and we saw a couple.
You must have found a huge one (i.e. >=5 mm), or have very keen eyes, or have been kept waiting a very Long time - possibly all 3 to see one
If I was one of those creatures I'd be complaining to the United Nations Institute for Naming Stuff (or
whoever). It's bad enough being blind and having to crawl around a South Korean cave without being labelled a fraud. How do you think a buzzard would feel being called a pretend eagle?
