Tony on expedition!
Tony will be in Slovenia on expedition from the 23rd until the 31st of August.
The Starless River team will remain hard at work ensuring any online orders are completed, however the Travelling Shop will be out of action until Mr Travelling Saleman returns.
Ray Wright, who developed and sucessfully ran the Clearwell Caves iron mine museum and visitor attraction in the Forset of Dean, died earlier today. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
Ray had been ill for quite some time, and was well into his eighties. I'm sure someone will write an obituary soon, but Ray does leave behind him a legacy that his family can be very proud of,
Sad news. I knew Ray from when I first started caving back in the early eighties. I'd like to know the funeral arrangements please as I'd like to pay my respects.
Ray's funeral service and cremation will be at the Forest of Dean Crematorium at Yew Tree Brake on Friday 21st August at 11:30am. Ray's wish was that people attending should please wear something green.
No flowers please. Donations if desired to the League of Friends of the Dilke Memorial Hospital may be placed in the donations box at the crematorium.
