Hi,
I've always somehow avoided visiting this cave, a previous offer of a led trip years ago ended up with some of my club going and me missing it due to health issues. I've got the survey/ description from Mendip underground and have read through old threads on here about the cave in preparation for a trip. Just checking if there's been any changes in the cave since the latest Mendip Underground was written as we've had some pretty wet winters!

I think the "tight awkward horizontal tube" below Splash Pot was modified a bit to get Andy Sparrow out

For a first visit I'd just go exploring and visit both ends of the round trip, rather than try to complete it. Rowberrow cavern is also worth a look. Good to hear that you are back underground

Thanks Mike, we've been into Rowberrow before and revisited last autumn. I've got long term chronic pain which started a year ago, managing it a bit better at the moment so taking tentative steps back underground.

Is the decent to the junction chamber stable? I've been interested in doing it just always been put off from what I've heard about it

No it's not stable! Not recommended as a round trip.
