Tidying up in the attic I came across a book that had belonged to my grandfather, who living in Arnside, had a considerable rock garden at his house on the side of the Knott. The author's name rang a bell. He was Reginald Farrer, a famous plant collector, whose family own the Ingleborough Estate and of course Ingleborough Cave. He clearly wasn't much involved with the cave that had been opened up many years before his birth as his extensive Wikipedia page makes no mention it. So if anybody wants a copy of the book I have one!

Yes please MROdoc. I have a close connection with RF's botanical work and I can find a good home for the book if you're wanting to pass it on.

Caver post?

If I remember I'll take it up to Hidden Earth as I live off Mendip and visits are infrequent except to Fairy Cave Quarry for our weekly dig. Pitlamp was in my sights as an interested party!

Definitely interested - and thanks!

No mad rush; there will almost certainly be folk at the conference who can convey it northwards (NPC or CPC members). Or if an opportunity does crop up before then that's a bonus.

Russ; I'm grateful for your offer of help but it looks like this weekend might be too early.
