Scaffold poles & boards

I’ve tried to buy poles & boards from a few scaffold firms around Burnley, near my work, but they are reluctant to sell their stock.
We’ve tried Marketplace etc but this is unreliable.
Does anybody know where I can buy some? Live near Settle / Ingleton and work near Burnley & have vans to collect.

Thanks.

If it's for digging then you might try using 6x1 tanalised boards for shoring as they last significantly longer than scaffold planks. Most builders merchants sell them. Good luck

Ebay often has sellers with scaff on their hands, but of course they want good money for it, £1 per foot, upwards.

Try small builders. These days most scaff jobs are subcontracted out to larger specialist firms owing to the liability issues of putting up one's own scaff, so there may be small piles of redundant kit lying around in builders yards that they never got round to weighing-in.

I echo Badlad's point about using tanalised. 1" is good for the sides, 2"-3" thick fence posts for the tops.
The pre-pointed ones work wonders.

Scaff planks are best utilised as deck or shovelling boards but will rot out like a lighthousekeepers Fiat.

We found a scaff supplier in Sheffield that was willing to sell us tubes and clips - he was actually quite impressed when we showed him what we were doing with it. Probably not much use for you though.

Premier Scaffolding in Harrogate sold me a load of boards for my allotment. I think I paid £100 for 20 x 10 foot lengths. Might be worth trying them as Harrogate isn’t miles off route from Burnley potentially

We were paying a tenner for 8 foot tubes, and £2.50 for new couplers, though I suspect the tubes would be the lighter wall thickness, and possibly not brand new, but very good condition. This is what we've been doing with it.
