• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Selling my trusty Scurion 700, bought new in Feb 2024. Selling as I’m replacing it with a Dive Scurion. Comes with original packaging, mounting hardware, charger and 1x4 cell battery. Minor cosmetic marks as it’s been used. Also comes with knackered Ecrin and 2 snoopy loops (if you really want!!)

£300, collection from Newport, SWCC, NPC or can caver post

Buy an Argolamp instead, much better product , more compact, user replaceable batteries 21700. Carry as much back up as you want for multi day trips, without being ripped off with expensive bespoke batteries. Depth tested to over 200m. No bespoke charger required. No brainer.

I’ve had an argolamp for about a year and a half now but it can’t take the same punishment as a Scurion. The buttons are less intuitive and don’t play nice with silt. That said, it is much lighter and easier to wear around all day.
Last straw was on a solo Daren diving trip when the lamp got stuck on full spot and the lower button stopped working(!!). The prospect of caving out on 2 backup diving torches wasn’t very appealing

What, buy a Argolamp instead of selling his Scurion? Surly he'll then have 2 lamps he doesn't want 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Fair enough, not had any issues with mine.So far......
Tend to keep my expensive dive torches eg scurion/argolamp for long duration, cleaner, multi-sump diving and use long duration back up torches for gmarly stuff.
