Search for Limley Mine Airshaft

We have broken through the choked western limit of Limley mine which involved carefully scaffolding around a huge flake of rock. A search along the level over the shale slope went to an arch with 1.5m drop into continuing level. Not far ahead the roof came down and the way on beneath (future dig) is choked. Dan and David searched along the floor amongst the collapsed roof material looking for signs of where the expected southern crosscut might lead off. They moved just a few rocks away from a possible low arch and stuck the camera in to see the open crosscut leading off all be it quite full of water. Dan went in followed by Chris in chest deep water to a t-junction at 70m. There they stopped to give others chance of exploring later. In the roof are two leads. Firstly close to the start of the level is a worked out vein high up with obvious open level yet to explore. Very close to the 70 junction is a high 'aven; feature with stream falling in that will need climbing. For now though we intend to survey what has been found and push on south towards New Goyden pot for a possible link up and further cave.
