Shout out for BCA caving expedition insurance

I may be - correction, I am - an old fart, but I'm about to set off on another expedition (my fifteenth) to the wondrous caves of Ario in the Picos de Europa. Obviously I need insurance.

Before looking at the BCA's offering, I checked out Snowcard, which I've used in the past. Their quote for a single trip lasting 17 days was £635, and that was to cover only rescue and medical bills, with no coverage for baggage, cancellations or any other extras.

This dwarfed anything I've paid before, and I guess my age (66) was the reason. Anyhow, I've now arranged it via the brokers engaged by the BCA (their details are on the BCA website). Their quote was for £175, with baggage, cancellation etc all included. Well done and thanks to all those who established this relationship. Needless to say, making the choice this was a no brainer.
