Simple Cave Video With TG 6

The cave entrance area has probably changed considerably as there have been regular floor slumps. We went down the ZigZags into the Dry Way. There was a consderable stream cascading down Jacob's Ladder as you can see and on the way back we detoured to look at the lower end of the Lavatory Pan which was probably virtually sumped as one of our group crawled in and got very very wet. We came out through the hollow tree by the way.

That fits with what I think I remember...

Well yesterday went reasonably OK. Lots of mini video clips done to achieve some fair stitches.

This image came from a video filmed in vertical format. The resulting video without editng comes out sideways but that does not matter for translation to images and subsequent stitching. So frame by frame in VLC. Images saved and stitched with a tiny bit of cropping, colour correction etc in Photoshop. Two Skyrays for light. One fixed and one following the camera pan.

Mr O'Doc on the 20m platform. Ladder and traverse pole to the second ladder. The vertical filmed format giving a long tight image on stitch.

Thanks for your comments Roger. I do wonder here if anyone actually cares a toss about what I post. Let alone if I have succeeded in showing that cave photography is open to anyone with a couple of hundred quid to spend then do stuff with minimal expertise. The first video above being outside was done on a tripod so it is stable. Everything I do underground comes secondary to the digging and exploration and that is why I use the term " simple ". No fancy set ups. Rarely posed. Thats the point. As it happens if you like. Anyway my co diggers get pissy if I spend ages faffing around with the camera. This one is Part Two from the dig.

Lots of wobble and out of focus but so what ? Things as they happen not all set up and posed.
I have another idea for next week.

One for the other diggers in the group.

This site has been dug on and off by us for over 40 years. The draught lures us on. Talk of mastercaves is no longer relevant. Its the exercise and challenge that I like. My visit to the gym. My digs are keeping me fit at age 75. Of course illness etc can intercede at any time so you just keep going until its time to stop. May that be a long way off.
