Simple Cave Video With TG 6

For this project a lot has been donated. The landowner has helped with our legal fees. The most expensive items were the entrance tubes. All donated. The digger driver charged us only for fuel and hire. We remain under licence so cannot publically name the site.

My stitch photo above was not good. Mr O'Doc did one better then I had an idea. Combine video screenshot and stitch programme. The video copes better with back scatter and lighting in our shaft. Its much quicker. Anyway I went into town to a tall church and combined this image. I wondered how the perspective would look. Encouraging enough to try it in the mine shaft. This image toned and colour corrected. All took a couple of minutes. With stitching remember to overlap the images.

I'm intrigued by your 'pole traverse'; what exactly are you doing there?
Its a mine so I can express my passion for all things scaffolding. This shaft has a dry level well above the water and flooded levels below. Opposite our platform side is a large alcove partly in limestone. There is collapse of cave type earth and boulders in there so we are hoping that either more dry levels or natural cavaties can be found. To get there we have to cross the water without getting wet. That proved impossible on SRT so we have built this dry access route now and can dig in the alcove. An easy job as all the rubble will go down the flooded shaft. We have nearly two years left on the licence so no rush. ( apart from our declining energy ). The church image was to see if I can get a simple view up the shaft. Of course you cannot back off to get it all in. I did the church as normal jpeg then as video screenshot before stitching. The video route worked better remembering that its just a TG 6. Some light distortion which wont matter under ground. Will try it out next week. TG6 in video mode slowly panning upwards . One static Skyray and one following the panned shot. Horizontal format with two or three stitched images. You may see the result here but only if it is to my satisfaction. Just one tiny bit of scaffolding to add as a step .

In Photoshop you can correct perspective and distortion to a certain extent using some of the more obscure tools. I haven't found it easy but with a practice you can achieve quite a bit.

I assume you didn't go down the Wet Way to reach the Old Grotto? It's a very long time since I last did Swildons but it looked to me as if one of your shots showed an almost sumped, and very intimidating Lavatory Pan (approached from downstream).
