If anybody fancies a last-minute expedition, we have a space 15th to 28th August on the Dachstein expedition in Austria. £185 exped fee (£135 for students/U25) plus €11/night accommodation costs, plus a bit (TBD) if camping underground (but then you don't pay the €11/night). All food included except for caving snacks. You'll obviously need to organize your own travel to Obertraun on 15th August (staying the night in Obertraun in a club hut), and then back home on the 28th (from Hallstatt/Obertraun around lunchtime/mid-afternoon).
We are always keen to get younger/new to expedition cavers; our only requirement is that you are (genuinely) SRT competent. That just means you can get up and down a few pitches safely with safe techniques, not that you are some sort of SRT superhero. Caving in the Dachstein is generally vertical hence the SRT requirement.
