Srt recommendations in the dales

I did wonder about doing this, could be an option. Thanks
Just be sure you can reach any rope hanging down from the NW route at the point marked with a ?

I have come down the NW route and got off at that point but it did require some “swinging”.

Failing that you would have to get to the point marked x and hope the NW rope reached the bottom 😱

Ah, good to know, I've watched a number of videos and gone over the rigging guides, route descriptions and surveys multiple times trying to find out if you can reach the ledge from half way down nw route. I was thinking I'd probably have to rig the drop for se route if I was going to do it that way.

Tbh looking at he forecast, I might have to drop onto my backup of sell gill and come back to alum anyway. Looks like there's been light rain for days and could continue onto the day I'm going. Don't really want to take any chances with the flood warnings on long churn.

I tried this once and, despite much swinging and throwing of ropes around flakes etc. to pull myself in, totally failed to get onto the ledge (until someone on the ledge was able to assist).

I ended up getting off opposite the “terrace” onto the mossy ledge on the same side of the “greasy slab”. I was solo so didn’t have the benefit of any help 😔.
Getting back on the rope was exciting 😃.
