Steam Traction engines Dalesbridge

Two steam traction engines will be making there way from Penrith to Dalesbridge tomorrow, on their journey from Oban to the Peak District, as a charity fund raiser for the RNLI and donate a kidney (see link below)
Dave Moose Nixon and Chris Blakeley are part of the team, if anyone is on route please cheer them on or pop into Dalesbridge tomorrow evening.

Where did you go to on the Waverley, we went to Tobermory on it at the weekend, then saw it again at the Crinan Canal, the hotel at Kilmelford has been taken on by Rick who has the Peaks Hotel in Castleton and the Old Hall in Hope amongst others

We did the cruise that started in Oban, called in at Craignure then down through the islands to Crinan (where my photo is). On the return to Oban we went via the Gulf of Corrievreckan. An excellent day out. Did you hear how Waverley came to the rescue a few days ago when the MV 'Isle of Mull' broke down, stranding passengers on Mull?

The crew of the 79-year-old Waverley offered its assistance to get passengers back to Oban on Tuesday.

Last minute change of plan with the route, they are now staying west of the M6 (middle of Lancaster) due to the number of horse drawn caravans and "associates" on the other route

That's going to take them not too far away from me. I'll keep an eye on their route and try and see them going past. My mum has just given me one of those RNLI pots that you fill with coins (no station near here, I was going to hand it in at Morecambe). Should be able to add a few ducats as well.

Damnit! I've just missed them judging by their tracking. Right now they're heading down the A6 by Garstang. I was in there this morning and then decided to walk up the canal. Unfortunately, they didn't seem to update their route plans during the morning otherwise I'd have made a point of seeing them.
