Swildons

Had a great trip into Swildons today.......First time I had been in there for some time.
Hardly anyone else in there which is a bonus, but it was nice to bump into Mark Helmore who I haven't seen for a long while and have a little chin-wag..... :)

I see that the recent rains and subsequent flooding have caused the entrance series to alter and shift a little again!! A little worrying, but same old same old!!!!!

Something that was a surprise though, was coming up the Wet Way where the "T" junction is (for showerbath to the right, and Binny's link/ Kenny's Dig to the left) I see that there was no water flowing over the rim into the Wet Way, but that it was coursing along the rift towards Binny's / Kenny's Dig and then pouring down a new hole!

Was this a natural occurrence or has it  had help?..Also, whats with all the digging spoil in Binny's? is that to do with the first question?

I also noticed the erosion on the "calcite bridge" at the old grotto coming in from the long dry way.....That looks as tho it won't take alot for it to completely erode through either!.....its amazing to see an active stream cave actually on the move in a short space of time!

Still a flippin good cave though, no matter how many times I've been down it over the last 38 years!!!!!!  ;)
