There is some more detail in the local paper but it's fairly vague. It does mention that the cavers involved were from Birmingham University.

If they were round my way I'd definitely find some bones, even if it meant a discrete trip to recover a jawbone from a well known Derbyshire cave to be "discovered". Nobody knows of any caves that Birmingham students visited previously that is missing a red deer skull?
You need to keep the archeologists on their toes, arrange the bones in a geometric pattern and then there'll be many papers written about presumed ritual practice
