I suspect that was part of the original motivation for the BPC's Pay Sank dig. They did do some work down there, once in. I saw them frequently around the time and I recall they weren't too enthusiastic about the prospects. I don't think there was any trace of RDL's reported ongoing bedding plane.

I think a lot of things changed round there when the moor drains were dug ,It changed things for ever allowing lots of rocks to get underground and blocking thing up for ever !
