The use of AI art

Take care! I know somebody who did that ... £500 damages for breach of copyright.
Automated scanning tools for unlicensed image use are increasingly common, particularly by media giants like news agencies. The BCA was threatened by one (entirely my fault) for a photo of the British volunteers who went out to support the Thai cave rescue, but they waived any penalty given the circumstances.

My daughter working for the Council promoting conservation of owls used an image from the owls trust. They threatened to sue unless a fee was paid.

One could always explore 'creative commons' licences for non- commercial work. Similarly if you an IAC (Institute of Amateur Cinematographers) member you can get a limited copyright licence for non-commercial music use for a small extra fee (about seven pounds or so) on top of normal membership. They also have an agreement with YouTube.
I think people get a bit miffed when stuff gets nicked for commercial use without consent, or AI uses their stuff to add to the AI database in what is seen as an effort to replace them for free.

I think, but am not certain as I'm not a member of them, that other organisations such as RPS and PAGB may have similar arrangement. Best to check. I understand licences are perpetual once the work is made, but again the strict non-commercial, and I guess non monetisation rules do apply.
Had a rummage round the internet thingy and here's a short film with the licences applied. You have to watch on YouTube. Note what YouTube did to it in terms of links to music in the description (well from looking at it on a computer anyway, no idea what it looks like on one of those infernal phone things).

I guess there'd be similar protocols for image copyright, creative commons, and so on.
