The proposer for three windfarms over karst around Matienzo has come back a year later with new proposals and updated documentation. Some of our previous concerns were included in the new Environmental Impact Statements - but bolted on, with no actions to address the issues.
A proposal is also in the pipeline to build a battery storage facility on the limestone at the high point of Fuente las Varas. The documents made no mention of the underlying 79km-long Four Valleys System resurging to the northeast in Secadura. The documents stated that any water sinking at Fuente las Varas travelled to Fuente Aguanaz, kilometres to the northwest - wrong!
