• Help us work out the future of the Inglesport Café

We've been trading since 1977 and next year will be our 50th anniversary.

The café has been part of that for a long time, running quietly in the background for years, and we don't think it always gets the credit it deserves as a genuine community hub. But we need to be straight with you: the café is under real pressure, and we’re not sure of the best path forward.....

Product Recall: Unbranded Twistlok Carabiners, Rope Pulleys and Swing Swivels

The products have been withdrawn from the market and recalled by Securit Ropes & Packaging Limited

There has been one reported instance of mechanical failure involving a carabiner of this type, in which the turn lock sleeve spring failed to engage properly, allowing the gate to open during equipment set up.

Furthermore, the EC type examination certificates provided have been confirmed by the named notified body to be counterfeit, as the original certificates were issued to a different manufacturer and expired in 2024.

From the above link that has a further link to a PDF file with this image. Apparently a problem with the twist lock gate not locking. Other items also recalled owing to forged CE documents

Hopefully more used for tying down loads not people working at height? Judging by the company that sold them...

I've heard of other cases of "CE certification" and when challenged the manufacturer claimed it was a misunderstanding and they are "China Export" numbers. All good reason for buying DMM, and other reputable products

Nothing on their website suggests they supply WAH kit, nor ever have done - according to the text up there now anyway. They do state with regard to their rope stocks (which may now seem ironic):
  • All products are certified and comply to all the rope standards.
