Hi all, Does anyone know a good source for the corrugated underground drainage pipes, appx 900mm diameter?

It would help if you let people know whereabouts in the country you are?

If you're willing to pay delivery as well as the pipe purchase cost, then Rob Eavis may be able to help you - I'm sure he'll see this thread and respond. Normally I think the stuff comes in 6m lengths but there may be offcuts to be had if you're wanting shorter?

There may still be a bit of old stuff going spare down on Avonmouth. I don't think they've cleared the site yet, but would need to check.

If you want concrete, we've got a couple of manhole rings out the back at work (near M5 J17) that are left over from before we sold off our contracting arm. From memory, they are 2.4m diameter and 1.5m tall. I did enquire about these before, but the boss hasn't got around to thinking about it yet. If they were definitely wanted, I could pick it up again and try to sort a deal. You'd obviously need to sort transport, but we may have a machine available to load them; again, I'd need to check, but best to be sure they are wanted before trying to sort anything.

Ok Pete many thanks. It’s impossible to move the concrete where we are based so would need to be plastic.
If you can get any from Avonmouth that would be great

I recently bought some 450mm plastic twinwall pipe to rebuild a culvert from JD Pipes (https://www.jdpipes.co.uk/). They were very friendly and delivery was very quick (3 days from memory). They do a wide variety of sizes up to and including 900mm and offer shorter lengths than 6m in some of them (though not the 750-900mm sizes). It might be worth considering whether you really need 900mm diameter as the price comes down very quickly with size, we used 600mm at Pearl Mine which is just about useable with a ladder with a little swearing, which is less than half the price of the 900mm for instance. Might be worth giving them a call to see if they have any shorter sections available?

The last mine I entered was a few weeks ago now :( but the entrance was sections of blue plastic barrel with a metal ladder inside (about 55cm diam). I'm grateful to the diggers/installers, but **** me, that's small, fine to stand still but flexing legs for say climbing up a ladder it's a bit tight! If it's horizontal 600mm is generous (unless fat) but if vertical and laddered that may be a bit, ermm... cosy

Cheers Ed, will give them a try also.
Actually measured it today and was surprised to find out that we only actually need
about One metre!
So maybe an offset somewhere?
Sadly in this instance 600mm wouldn't work.
Cheers

Yeah I'm not exactly a small lad and although 600 wouldn't work, it would be very snug for my shoulders!

*if* you don't need much strength (single wall) and only need about 1m, a blue 220 litre barrel (about 55*95cm) comes on about £65 2nd hand, but soil slumping may squash them over time so it won't suit every location
edit: racing snakes only
