Urgent Need - Trailer for expedition (ICCC)

With only 4 days before the setup team leaves, and 10 days before our minibus leaves, Imperial College Union is withdrawing support from our expedition.

Without a minibus we have no way to transport our equipment so we're looking for a trailer to make the journey from London to Slovenia. Would anyone be able to help us out?

What weight is your towing vehicle? As it affects how big a trailer you can take; and have you checked relevant laws in all countries you are passing through? Who can drive it is probably different in each of them!

We're pretty sure it's fine, so long as it's registered with the UK Gov and it has a break cord

We do, and in the winter it doesn't really do much.
However at this time of year it gets a lot of use, so unfortunately isn't available.

A lot of hire places in the SE charge £60 for 1 day and £30 a day thereafter, so a month of hire would be approaching £1K . That's your worst case scenario I guess

We may have temporarily sorted the union problem (and therefore the transport) this year (we will know on Wednesday), but likely will be much more difficult in future to run the expedition with IC union support ('change in board risk appetite'). There's much more to say but until the discussions occur between the incoming committee and the union we won't have any details and don't want to jeopardise any negotiation. (And at least we will have more notice to sort it out than 4 days!)

Very much worthwhile leaning on the BCA youth and development team for assistance with union negotiation. There is a chunk of experience in the team that might help get a favourable result!
