Decades ago when I was working as a gold prospector near Dolgellau, I walked out to work one morning past a man sitting in a field with a shotgun next to a molehill. I did not pay much attention to him at the time. Several hours later, looking down from the mountain above, I was surprised to see the man was still in the same spot. At the end of the day, as I started to walk back down into the valley, I heard a single shot, then noticed the man collecting something then walking out of the field. This all seemed very strange at the time, all day to shoot one mole?

Depends. Was this a mole Moriarty, who had subjected Dogellau to a reign of Talpidae Terror? Was the gunman hired by the locals to bring this underground criminal mastermind to terminal justice? Just how much was this single moleskin worth, so the good people of Dogellau could sleep safe in their beds?
