Do you both work there? :ROFLMAO:
The maximum value of bonds a person can hold is £50K so, at the current payout rate of 3.6%, thats going to generate, on average, about £1800pa (or £150 per month). If you exclude the massive prizes - the two monthly £1M ones - the likely monthly win drops significantly.

Looking back at the last 12 months, my wife made 3.1% and I made 2.7% on our maximum allowances. £100.00 was the maximum payout amount on any of our winning bonds.

They certainly aren't the best investments around, and I wouldn't recommend having all your savings in Premium Bonds.

It is quite exciting though opening up the App every month to see what you've won and wondering if it's the big one. I'm in a Premium Bond winnings WhatsApp group and the general consensus is the +/- 2.9% returns my wife and I make are fairly typical. The excitement is worth the poor return for us.

Be warned - if you inherit any premium bonds you do not inherit any outstanding winnings! I have just found this out when dealing with my mothers estate. We only got the face value of the premium bonds - not at all sure what happened to the unclaimed @£400 but it did not come to the beneficiaries.......
