Warmbac wetsocks sizing change?

I ordered some new Warmbac long wetsocks to replace my old blue ones. Ordered size 9, as that's my street shoe size and what my old Warmbacs were. The ones that arrived were red (no problem) and seem significantly bigger, particularly around the calf/top. Have the sizings changed or did my old ones just shrink?

My observation is that there seems to be a bit of variation within socks of the same nominal size, same for their suits. Worth trying before you buy if you can.

Neoprene items do shrink with use, mainly because the nylon lining shrinks (as with SRT rope shrinkage).
