West swirl rope derigged in Oxlow

Did a trip to oxlow today and the in situ rope that's usually there for the West swirl slope between the 3rd and 4th pitch had been derigged, but left in the cave tied into the first bolt at the bottom of the 3rd pitch. Does anyone know anything about this?

I don't know about the derigging of that rope but FWIW it was still rigged when we were there on October 11th.

We rigged it over that rope 2 weeks ago and it was absolutely fine. My guess was it was Luke Brocks? As there was a load of diving gear in the West Ante-Chamber with L.B initials on it...

It's not a fixed rope, so if you're not confident, take your own.

Both the DCA and CCPC rigging topos give rope lengths for protecting the slope. There is a note on the Crewe topo to not assume a rope is going to be there. Over the years, there more usually has been one than not though.
