Bit of a historic picture that.
Tom Thompson is making the first descent of the pitch down to Lost River Chamber Sump 1 as this area of GG was explored during the CPC winch meet in (IIRC) 1996. In the foregrount is the late - and sorely missed - Mal Goodwin, who was a GG stalwart. And Stump Cross stalwart as well, often digging with Geoff Workman and co.

Mal was the one who, on a separate occasion when being semi asphyxiated by a botched smoke test in Bar Pot, sat there smoking fags!
