Black shiver - from the clues though, it looks like that side bit that comes in, in Pool sink but that's no where near the first guess.

Black shiver and knacker trapper are both good guesses, but both wrong! The waterfall in question is about twenty metres from daylight, and was first seen by man in 1905!
