Bull's Eye! My, that was hard work.

The photo was taken in May 2008. We had reached a boulder choke, and Ged Benn in the photograph, had just organised things down below so we could chemically collapse a rather dodgy boulder bridge. As things turned out, when we went to inspect the damage, we heard someone trampling around overhead in Small Mammal House, so we diverted our efforts to digging upwards.

This one was taken a few days ago, it's a really good trip.

Maybe the light/ rendition but the sediment infill looks very much like volcanic clay, toadstone or cat dirt as they say in the Peak. Of course could just be shale from between the limestone beds...
