Wezzit?

I once squeezed my way from Crystal into Dog Hole and thought 'Phew, glad I won't have to go back through there again!'. I then discovered that I couldn't find my way out of Dog (I'd never been in before) ...
I feel like I've read about this adventure...
Did you put out a trip report somewhere?

I did write about it in an old Lancashire Caving & Climbing Club journal a long time ago (1979/80 - ish?). I'm away from home for a few days so can't check exactly. I think Crystal is a lovely cave once you're through the flat out wet entrance crawl. Unless you try getting through to Dog Hole then it bares its fangs as a bit.

What kind of fun?

We're looking for something fun this Sunday to balance something arduous from the day before.
If you just go in Crystal, and don't attempt the low, wet bedding connection to Dog Hole, then it would be a good choice for a Sunday trip, IMO.

It's funny but I don't recall anything too wet (I was wearing a wetsuit). My biggest worry I recall was thrutching up a tight, awkward chimney. For some reason on the way back I decided the only way to do it was head first downhill and thinking I could get stuck in here. I was pretty thin back then.
There’s two connections between Crystal Cave and Dog Hole.

The original is an extremely tight squeeze in Barker’s passage. It’s through a horizontal slot as I remember it. I found it desperate, and it’s definitely the tightest thing I’ve actually got through underground!

The route which everyone takes now follows the stream directly through from Crystal to Monsoon Chamber in DH. I suspect a load of shingle washed out in flood - it was previously recorded as a choke/sump, but is now a fairly easy (if wet) crawl.

It's almost certain I was in the original connection as you describe. I was getting a bit worried - shades of Neil Moss were running through my mind coming back through! Anyway, has anyone got any ideas where Porgzillas wezzit is?

This sounds very intriguing, both the trip and the connection.
I'll suggest it for this Sunday and do some research in the meantime. I would also welcome any resource suggestions.:)

Anyway, where's my Wezzit at?

Could it be Quaking?
It is Quaking!
