What caving related thing did you do today?

Borrowed club SRT kit as wanting to learn, spent a bit of time learning how to put in on in the right order and coming up with ways to help me remember as I find it hard to learn stuff.

After my moan about missing UK caving this miserable bastard gave his head a shake and looked what interesting literature there might be for my region - and started with the below.
Also been coasting on other people surveying for me (thanks Alastair and Michael, as well as man more abroad!) forever, this works ok if you find a couple of meters per year. Less good if it’s closer to something every trip. So I’m working on changing my ways.
No time for reading now though, bolt climbing tomorrow and Hirlatz on monday!

Tried SRT for the first time (in a tree) , bought some new wellies after coming close to falling down the hill on the walk back to the car loaded up with a bouldering mat, realised the tred had very much worn out on my Dunlops.

Standard caving kit cleaning with a new twist:
I use a power washer to clean kit, and was politely but firmly informed by a neighbour that it’s Sunday. Which means I’m not allowed to use loud equipment (Germany). Clearly re-integration will take some time.

So now I have a muddy heap which will have to fester until 6am tomorrow morning I suppose.

I ended up cleaning my kit just now, just left it for a nice soak in the pouring rain during the day. Doing it at 6am wouldn’t even have worked as a deterrent, most people around here are up by then

Started learning SRT last month, got ill for 3 weeks then it rained a lot. Back to practice again this afternoon. Partner up the tree whilst I try and warm my feet up which got cold in wellies despite the sun.

Got scratched and irritable fighting through barbed wire bushes and scalpel plants for ages, looking for a cave that is described in Northern Caves but doesn't seem to be where it's supposed to be.
