Which Rope

Had a dig around (ha) the forums, but can't see much recent or concise...

So.. in the market for some semi static, probs 100m. For general use, bit of climbing abbing, bit of caving etc etc. Probably want 10mm but could consider thinner.

Been looking around - Inglesport, Starless River etc.

Petzl Club ?
Petzl Club+ ?
Beal Spelenium?
Beal Spelenium Gold (9.5) ?
Tendon Speleo?
Spanset blue stuff (tried looking on their ebay page, but not a lot doing). ?
Gleistein Geostatic (9mm)
Simond 9mm (cheap from decathlon)

Any thoughts/feedback/opinions welcome.

I guess nice handling and durability combo are my two main concerns.

i.e. don't want something that rapidly turns to wire and wears out.

If you buy the rope as a number of custom measured metres rather than a a pre cut length, don't forget to order 5 or 6% longer than you wanted to allow for that initial shrinkage

I'd suggest 10-15% if you want your 60m rope to still be at least 60m in 10 years time...

We sell the random lengths by rounding them down to the nearest 10 metres, so as Ian said he ordered 40 and got 48.
It will vary, but you should have enough for shrinkage and in most cases a bit more.
We set it up to be a good deal and hope it works for you all
