I thought about putting this in the BCA forum, but I'm not remotely a BCA rep, and I didn't want to convey any sense I am.

Everyone's BCA insurance is arranged through a broker called Howdens who also arranges insurance for various other sports clubs. Roughly quarterly, Howdens runs a competition to help sports clubs win £500 whilst celebrating their volunteers.

The Howden Grassroot Heroes Fund is open for nominations, but it is only open for a short time - the closing date is 5pm on Friday 18th July (i.e. Friday).

Clubs are invited to nominate a volunteer who is their “Grassroots Hero” by…

1) Filling in the entry form.

2) Following the Facebook page, Howden Grassroots Sport Insurance.

And that’s it!

Please ensure you have read the terms and conditions for entry here.

Winners will be chosen by a random generator and notified after the closing date.

The winning club will receive £500 to spend on equipment, training, or any other needs. Additionally, the clubs in 2nd and 3rd place will each receive £250.

It would be great to have some caving club winners! You can find out more about the past winners, and more, in Otium, the Howden sport insurance magazine.

If you have questions, ask anyone other than me. Literally. I am the messenger!
