Win 100m Spanset Platinum 9mm!!

Mendip could really benefit from it for Eurospeleo 2016 Regional Shenanighans, because all the rest of the Spanset is going to the Dales (unless I misunderstand things!).

I would use it to finally get to the bottom of Oxlow. The only time I went we managed to be one rope short. Some of the braver / stupider members of the cast went further by scrimping on rope and rigging 'sub-optimally'. I never regretted not following but would really like to complete it one day...

I'm looking for a load of thin rope for pushing the Voragine del Giaset in the Haute Maurienne and for trips to New Zealand's Alpine caves, Giant's Staircase for example

I would rig a nearby viaduct in the Walkham Valley, but why you ask - for training!
I'm pretty new to SRT and a rope would mean that myself and friends would be able to practice the techniques that are required for mines and caves.

Random.org has had it's say.....

...and the winner is Badger!!

Badger very kindly helped with a recent caver post of some prizes down to Mendip - now he's won a prize for himself - 100m of Spanset Platinum 9mm rope  ;D  Congratulations, Badger - we'll be very interested to hear how you use it  ;D

Please PM me to arrange getting the rope to you.

Once again - many thanks to Spanset & Teufelberger

..also, thank you to everyone who entered the competition, your support is very much appreciated  - another great competition coming soon  :bounce:

Do Spanset actually sell this rope? I can't see it on their website, but it is too thin for rope access work, so that may be why.

I know that 'Spanset' ropes are actually made by Teufelberger, who also make ropes for Mammut I believe.

Are Spanset the sole importer of Teufelberger ropes?

Hi
SpanSet use quite a lot of rope on our products and we get it made for us by Teufelberger as they are a great supplier.
The standard industrial sizes 10.5 and 11mm are core stock for us and can be bought direct, but we will also supply via distributors - Mark Wright can supply for example.
For Eurospeleo we have worked with Teufelberger and have been able to provide a really nice quality 9mm rope as a special, plus some of our 10.5.
In the near future I will also be able to supply another 9mm rope and so watch this space.
Any problems or requests send me a pm.
Thanks
Pete
