I feel the need to comment on the excellent job that Badlad and you have done in making UKC a stirling website for the undergound community and one that now commands respect. A long way from the battleground for keyboard warriors, often on non caving related subjects, that it once was. Enjoy your Chrismas and be aware of the appreciation that I and others feel of the effort that has been put into making UKC what it is today.

And while I am on, a very good Christmas and New Year to all.

Many thanks to the UKC team.

While out digging somewhere with Badlad, Geoff, Chris and Dave this Wednesday we had a surprise, nay - uncanny, visit from our cheeky little chum, the Cave Robin (Rubecula troglodytes) - always seems to pop down at Christmas - perhaps from a tree!? It was solstice after all, and weird things do happen.

It's a good omen! Happy Christmas and New Year cavers!

Hi Roy, thank you for your kind comments and to everyone else on this thread too, I was really touched.

It's not been the easiest of years health wise so I took my eye off the ball re competitions and haven't been underground either 😭 Thanks to our wonderful NHS I am much, better now. I promise the competition will be back and I'm so looking forward to caving again :) Hopefully Hidden Earth or a similar event will take place in 2023 and we will see you there in person. Supporting CHECC with a Grand Prize would be fun too.

Roy is right, UKC is no longer a battleground - debate on all topics is welcome, however the manner in which members use the forum has improved immeasurably. Onwards.....

What the forum, like all social media needs is engagement, content, to be used - so please, help UKC by joining in - it can be as little as clicking that 'like' button, maybe post a photo, ask a question or start a debate, thank you (y)(y)
