No it doesn't begin with G, no to Harborough, no to Rains.

It's a site that doesn't see many visits, probably due to how muddy it is....

Not Thumper Sitch - this one isn't in the Via Gellia.

This is getting frustrating. Not something between Wirksworth and Carsington, like Godfrey's, Dream Cave or Foxholes is it (not that I have been to any of them). Possibly the climb into higher workings at the end of "Anglo Saxon level" (proper name escapes me for now), not quite on the Via Gellia. Posted in order to revive the post and get an answer.

Bit of a shotgun approach there Tripod, but you've hit the target - it's Fox Holes Cave, and a bit you don't want to climb down as there's an eight-foot drop at the bottom of that particular downward-trending pipe - a certain well-known mine archaeologist did start climbing down it and had a struggle getting back up on the trip I took that photo on....

Maybe we need something in the rules about one entry at a time, otherwise you could just list every site in CoPD for a particular catchment!

Incidentally, FYI to anyone thinking of visiting Fox Holes, please take care in the entrance passage, there are collembolla living in the puddles!

I apologise for the shotgun approach. Foxholes was a guess based on the location and mud clues. Another apology - I have nothing readily to hand to post but I will have a search through my files.

The same catchment as in the previous Wezzit?. Photo taken near the entrance. The vertical nature changes to a horizontal one further in.
