thought about antwans words re engineering. still wondering if we should have a fixed ladder on the pitch into the frozen deep. four serious injuries in two years and lucky to get any one of them up the wire ladder. somebody on mendip said well it is a tourist cave now. the group have discussed it before but decided against it then. i suggested a review. not that i have a vested interest.ahem --- :-\

I've given Dave King a sample of some stainless steel wire that may be useful for holding boundry tapes.
I've got quite a lot if it's suitable.

read the club magazine today. a bit more new stuff in aggy.

thursday watched time team. it was about the epic mucky dig in coopers hole. some old mendip faces on that one.

friday. pilgrimage to the hunters and dropped some gear off for the tuesday diggers. battery, charger and smoke can.

plaster off arm this week. they wanted to put another on for four weeks but i asked them not to. must go very careful.

thought about caving. wont be until april at least.

I went hiking in karst terrain. My SO found a potential awesome cave (taking a ton of water, geologist along thinks it has quite potential, I don't want to jinx it to say more!), just needs some digging.... It's sad how few people like project stuff here, but we do, and are slowly forming a group of like-minded cavers who are tired of always doing tourist trips =)

Yesterday obtained some up to date detailed maps and photocopied them into convenient A4 sheets and am at this very moment putting the relevant  limestones on them.

This is to ascertain subterranean hydrological catchment areas and their potential resurgences..

Also been communicating with my friend Peter about his cave and Karst research in Quatar....

Attended the AGM of a very small caving club as an observer, over a cream tea in a Surrey farm shop tea-room! All over in the time it takes to drink two cups of tea and eat a couple of jam scones with clotted cream.

Missed my mid-week trip today due to ill kids, so sewed up the leg of one of my oversuits instead.  :)

Bet I am the only one caving today. Just chucked the gear in the back of the car. Stinking cold so I should be at home.

Cleaning kit after yesterday's trip down the Churns with BBC's Breakfast's Mike Bushell - the guy who has tried 100's of sports.  Hopefully we've shown caving in a positive light, let's see on Saturday morning  ;D

Is it true that your latest model runs off the mains instead of batteries, and requires some pretty heavy cables as shown in that photo they are using for the caption competition?
