That was an excellent report of what sounds a really good trip. Just being there underground, enjoying the feel of the place and experiencing things you don't normally notice becase you hurry past them.
Get well soon - but don't lose sight of the joys of gentle caving!

Yes, an excellent reminder that caving trips don't have be dead 'ard, groundbreaking or death-defying to be enjoyable.
Thanks for sharing.

Caving can help people through a lot of things - even being underground on the simplest of trips has a soothing effect on me, it just makes life simple.
Great trip report, with some lovely photos of cave spiders in there:
Meta sp.
if I'm not mistaken, gorgeous specimens!
I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Goatchurch Cavern was my first cave many years ago. It's nice to take time and observe sometimes rather than race through caves as as fast as possible.

We'll do some more mindful trips Bagpuss - I enjoyed this one
It's worth reflecting too, that although this was an easy trip by your previous standards, most non-cavers would have found it really rather adventurous. You've come a long way.
