I don't know what the guy expects to find.

It all looks a bit dodgy to me.

Are you sure it's in the Peak Mark?

If he is really lucky it's a flue from a Lead smelter. Could be Lead and other metal residues on the walls.

Going off on a tangent slightly. They guy needs to try to swear less on videos he intends to post on Youtube. Not everyone wants to hear the 'F' word every few seconds.

I think that's somewhere round Sheffield, in which case it'll be a coal or ganister mine. Every arched mine level in woods I can think of in the Peak goes into limestone, though there are one or two  smelter sites on shale this could possibly be on. None of the above are healthy places to be digging though!
Dirty old mines need love too....

He's posted urbex stuff from the Don Valley Gannister mines before now including photos which showed part burried brick arches.

I think I've met this guy on the bus back from Castleton. Full camo gear etc. Does it all solo. The 'F' word is a fundamental part of his universe, and I doubt he cares what anyone thinks about it. I'm quite enjoying his complete commitment to the project, even if it does look suicidal - he's obviously the type who was born to do this sort of stuff. Knocking out a shale roof with a crowbar? Better than most commercial entertainment! I would also assume it to be Sheffield somewhere, but it doesn't look familiar - maybe Wadsley Common? That's the only part I've never visited.

One things for sure with that dig.. he's on a hiding to nothing.
