Tree Monkey, there's a good chance that Mr. Paul and me will be at Star tomorrow to place the new lid: do you have any free time to assist dismantling and moving from site the remaining fencing bits/posts? You've got the necessary tools and transport for this job and, please, please pleasitty-please it would be most brill if you could help. Fawn, fawn.  :kiss2: (nothing gay).  :coffee:

Mick has bought his own 36volt Lithium battery Hilti Rock drill, suppose to drill in rock from 4mm - 20mm.
Very expensive but light and small and smoothe.

Biff has made The A.C.G. another hilti capping rod as the first one got lost,
the new one is now in the keeping of Doug.

Just ONE capping rod...?

We use coach bolts with the domed tops....  Cut the thread bit off and there you have. A handfull of them for a couple of quid in various lengths, and the dome top allows for an arms lenth mis-strike... Plus you have spares if you bend one or two.

Has the new Axbridge Caving Group Hilti Capping Rod that Biff handed over three weeks ago been used yet?
I thought you were gagging for it up The Top Rift.

Yes.  Its been used twice now!  Once at the mcg to lower the carpark surface. :o :o

The second time, used it down R/R to break a few rocks up! :bounce:

Looking around for a slightly bigger air breaker!   Does anyone on this forum know of any surplus ones looking for a good home, here on Mendip!

I always thought that you were a keen reader of your meeting minutes Whitelackington!

ACG had the Hilti drill for ages - the one that the discussion about buying it went on and on for ages every meeting! But it never worked very well, the main problem was that the battery would only run for enough time to drill about 3 holes on a full charge. I am sure you remember all this - we were the mockery of Mendip with our weedy drill!

But a year or so ago we had the opportunity to buy a very good drill at a discount so we did. I am sure the Hilti is still around somewhere, but the new Bosch one is so much better.

Yes, apparently it is one of those.

We have the drill at the moment. We are using it in our quest to try to get the water to drain in Templeton.
