Training for members of the 'Cavers List'

First off, apologies for the lack of any input to the forum since it was set up. We can only plead that, as volunteers, with lots of other things to be doing, we've overlooked including anything here :-[
However, that changes from now!
This weekend, we were delighted to host one of our twice yearly training sessions for cavers who we can call on to assist us in the event of a serious cave rescue incident in our area.
There's been a lot of publicity around the Thai cave rescue which has shown how the UK caving community can pull together and provide world class help and support. CRO are very lucky to have some unsung heroes a little closer to home - "The Caver's List" This is a group of skilled and experienced cavers who we can call on when required to assist us with a cave rescue. As cavers I'm sure you can imagine how labour intensive a protracted cave rescue can be, and having an extended group of willing and experienced rescuers we can call on is a valuable asset that we are very grateful for This weekend we held a training session with the folks from the Caver's List, it's pretty safe to say that they could probably teach us a thing or two about caving, so these sessions are focused on familiarisation with our kit and the techniques that they might only see in a rescue situation.

We really are very lucky to have the support of every member on the list, thank you guys and girls for your continued support.

A great weekend - good to learn some new things and refresh others, as well as getting to know a few more people. Thanks again for organising! :)
