Coral Cave
« on: February 25, 2007, 01:52:15 pm »
Biff has made a new lid for Coral cave, the old one was fitted by A.C.G. in the early fifties
and the lid rim was rotten.
We removed the old lid & rim yesterday and fitted the new one.
Quite a few locals came up during the day and chatted, some of them we have chatted to on previous trips to this fine Axbridge cave.
Without exception on every occasion all the locals have been friendly & positive.
Last year the people in the nearest house asked us into their garden as they reackon they can hear rumbling under their lawn, I could not notice any surface features though.
The area above Coral Cave makes for an excellant walk, one of the few areas of Karst around here.
