That's why you've been so quiet recently - been caving in France!

I'm not a complete idiot: some parts are missing!

Now if only you'd been using film...my Nikon F301 died halfway through the photo trip we did to the Hall of Thirteen, but four fresh AAs had it up and running again.
Seriously though, great shots, I'll post some of my stuff when I get time to scan it all. Hmmm, what was I saying about film?
Tony.

i think i need a bit of laminated paper in my peli case saying

Camera
Memory card
Battery
tripod plate

What you need tony is a simillar system to what they have on movie film cameras.
it does get shot onto film but it also gets shot onto video / digital so you can have instant replay of digi and quality of film.

Cave_Troll - surely that would just remind you of what you forgot to pack when you open your Pelicase 200m down ;)

"before you leave the house, check the contents"

but then of course i wasn't in my house and the battery was charging in a tent...

So maybe to be safe you should scratch it onto the side of your cara nd embroider it onto your tent just in case. Or have it tattooed onto your hands....

Or maybe get a camera that charges through the USB port. That way you wouldn't have to take the battery out.  :smartass:

but would be unable to change its battery when the battery goes flat.
normally i carry a spare battery. If i'm going "off the grid" i have an adapter that takes AAs.

In this case there were two failures
1) forgot to put battery back in camera
2) forgot to pack space battery in case which would have saved the day from (1) on a normal day

OK, buy a camera that takes AAs. People don't need their headlights to work while your photographing them!  :smartass:

"due to a balls up
Isn't this necessary for naked photos...? :spank:
