Yes, we gave them a description:

An unknown number of theives, presumed to be human beings, all of unknown age, gender and appearance were not seen breaking into our isolated hut, and were subsequently not seen making off with a large amount of our belongings, in an unknown make of vehicle with an unknown registration.

Following this statement, the police immediately knew who they were looking for, arrested them, organised a line up, to which a club representative went, confirmed that they could not recognise the individual(s). This was evidence enough for the police and this person/people is/are currently awaiting trial...

No. Somehow I think finding the culprits is unlikely.

Are there any identifiable items of caving gear we should all look out for in case anyone is offered kit for sale, or it appears on ebay?

Alas, twas not those kind of belongings but more essential wares: gas bottles, generator, battery, inverter, axes etc.

Needless to say, we're not storing those items on Mendip in the future but it makes using our hut an arse.

Couldn't you leave items like axe in a nearby cave.
Or excavate your own cave adjacent to your hut
