Rhino Rift, Tuesday 25th August 2009
« on: August 25, 2009, 07:49:00 pm »
Whirlwind Digger is back! - he wanted to refreshen SRT skills and I was happy to oblige as I haven't done much rigging for a few weeks; so a 2:00pm RV and we sauntered in good weather to the pit of fun; padlock worked a treat `cos we're not dysfunctional and soon slid to the start of the verticalness; all went very smoothly, steadily and enjoyably, using the taut-as-cable Spelenium Gold which it is still possible to rig piano-tight on traverses etc, if you know how.

Usual tea and buns at t'bottom of t'pit and then hoisted upwards and back to sunshineyness, all told in about two and a half hours. No sweat. Good fitness from Mr. Whirlwind, spesh considering he's not done much stringwork for yonks and given he was promoted to derigging detail, to boot.

Home James.

Have you started tunneling your way from Rhino Rift into "another" cave yet?
